Study Abroad in Berlin – Summer and Winter
FUBiS is an intensive academic program of Freie Universität Berlin through which students can earn ECTS credits that may be counted toward their degrees at their home institutions. FUBiS sessions run for 3 to 6 weeks and take place both in summer and winter.
Registrations are now open for the summer terms:
- FUBiS Term II: May 30 – July 11, 2026 (registration until May 2)
- FUBiS Term III: July 18 – August 15, 2026 (registration until June 20, early-bird discount until May 23)
Registration for the winter Term I 2027 (January 4 to 22) opens in September 2026.
Students can choose between subject courses (mostly English-taught) and German language and culture courses. The 50+ subject courses are offered within the fields of Architecture, Art History, Politics, Law, History, Media Studies, Economics, Sustainability, Urban Studies, Philosophy, Entrepreneurship, and Music. The German language and culture courses are offered on up to five different levels of proficiency.
Field trips are an integral part of all our courses. In addition, FUBiS offers excursions such as a visit to the Berlin Reichstag building and a river boat tour through downtown Berlin, walking tours through Berlin, or day trips to Potsdam and Leipzig.
