Das Chinesisch-Deutsche Institut für Internationales Wirtschaftsrecht ist im Zusammenhang mit dem Leuchtturmprojekt des DAAD am Chinesisch deutschen Hochschulkolleg (CDHK) an der Tongji Universität am Wirtschaftsstandort Shanghai entstanden. Kooperationsuniversitäten sind die Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin und die Universität Konstanz.

Das Institut bietet ein rechtsvergleichendes Doppel-LL.M. Programm sowohl für chinesische als auch für deutsche Studierende an. Eine Bewerbung für deutsche Studierende ist über die Universität Konstanz möglich.

Daneben bestehen mit weiteren deutschen Universitäten Austauschprogramme und die Möglichkeit zur geförderten Promotion.
