Study Abroad in Berlin – Summer and Winter

With FUBiS you can study in Berlin for 3 to 6 weeks in summer and winter while earning ECTS credits that may count toward your degree. Enroll in German language courses and English-taught subject courses, experience a rich cultural program in Berlin, and make friends for life from around the world

FUBiS is an intensive academic program of Freie Universität Berlin through which students can earn credits that may be counted toward their degrees. FUBiS sessions run for 3 to 6 weeks and take place both in summer and winter.

FUBiS Term I: January 4 to January 22, 2027 (registration until November 23)
FUBiS Term II: May 29 – July 10, 2027 (registration from December 2026)
FUBiS Term III: July 17 – August 14, 2027 (registration from December 2026)

Students can choose between English-taught subject courses and German language and culture courses. The 50+ subject courses are offered within the fields of Architecture, Art History, Politics, Law, History, Economics, Urban Studies, Sustainability, Philosophy, Entrepreneurship, and Music. The German language and culture courses are offered on up to five different levels of proficiency.

Field trips within Berlin are an integral part of all courses. In addition, FUBiS offers excursions such as a visit to the Berlin Reichstag building and a river boat tour through downtown Berlin, walking tours through Berlin, or day trips to Potsdam and Leipzig.
