Study in Berlin – Summer and Winter

FUBiS is an intensive academic program of Freie Universität Berlin through which students can earn credits that may be counted toward their degrees at their home institutions.

FUBiS sessions run for 3 to 6 weeks and take place both in summer and winter. Watch the FUBiS imagefilm on Youtube.

The FUBiS program 2023 takes place in three terms:

• FUBiS Term I: January 3 – January 26, 2023 (3 weeks)
Registration for Term I is open until December 6, 2022.
• FUBiS Term II: June 3 – July 15, 2023 (6 weeks)
• FUBiS Term III: July 22 – August 19, 2023 (4 weeks)
Registration for Term II and III opens in November 2022.

Students can choose between subject courses (mostly taught in English) and German language and culture courses. The 50+ subject courses are offered within the fields of Architecture, Art History, Politics, Law, History, Media Studies, Economics, Sustainability, Literature, Philosophy, Film, and Music. The German language and culture courses are offered on up to five different levels of proficiency.

Field trips are an integral part of all our courses. In addition, FUBiS offers excursions such as to the Berlin Reichstag and a River Boat Tour through Downtown Berlin, or day and weekend trips to Potsdam, Dresden, and Leipzig.
