Climate experts (prospective leaders and postdocs) wanted! Apply now to conduct a project of your own choice in Germany.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation awards up to 15 International Climate Protection Fellowships to prospective leaders and up to 5 to postdoctoral researchers each year. Together with a host, the fellows will work in Germany for 12-24 month on a project of their own choice.

The project should focus on combating climate change, adaptation strategies, preserving ecosystems and biodiversity, or on the sustainable use of the seas and oceans. Sustainability topics relating to natural resources, resource-efficient consumption or urban development are also welcome.

The fellows receive up to €2,670 per month plus benefits such as comprehensive family allowances, German tuition and a lump sum for travel expenses.

To be eligible to apply, the first academic degree (Bachelor or comparable degree) must have been completed no more than 12 years ago – additionally, postdocs must have completed their doctorate during the last four years. Visit our website for more information on benefits and application requirements.

The fellowships are funded under the International Climate Protection Initiative by the Federal Environment Ministry.
