DAAD Branch Office Beijing is thrilled to welcome all Germany alumni to join us for an interactive discussion about talent, skills, and employability in the modern workplace: From Education to Employment - Challenges and Changes for International Talent
Sabine Porsche of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Bill Xu of SAP BusinessObjects will share their insights and experience identifying and managing top talent. Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A session with the audience.
The event will be held in Chinese and English.

Sabine Porsche: Employability skills of (university) graduates for the Society 5.0
During her 20 years of working in education management, Sabine Porsche has gained experience and in-depth insight into collaborating with the private sector to groom promising, young talents.
In 2017 she joined Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in China. At GIZ, Sabine Porsche heads the Private Sector Cooperation (develoPPP.de) and leads multiple education projects in different sectors such as automotive or health. Before joining GIZ Sabine worked at the Sino-German Tongji University in Shanghai.
As the University´s vice-director for the University of Applied Sciences (CDHAW), she initiated and lead the DAAD Career Academy at Deutschkolleg. Additionally, Sabine Porsche developed and conducted pieces of training for Chinese students and researchers, supporting them in their preparation for studying in Germany.
Prior to her stay in China she was working at Philipps-Universität Marburg. Sabine Porsche holds a MA degree in cultural anthropology.
Bill Xiu: How to attract, train and retain talents and young professionals
Bill Xu joined SAP BusinessObjects in 2007 and is the Director of Strategic Planning and Operation of SAP Labs China; He is also the Head of SAP Labs China Internal Innovation & Incubation as well as SAP Labs China Digital School.
Prior to these positions, Bill Xu worked as SAP's Global Program Manager and headed their Global Business Intelligent product development and delivery. A true international mindset and believer in multiculturalism, he managed teams in China, Canada, France, and India. Bill Xu furthermore gained experience working in various countries such as Germany, Singapore, India, and the United States.
He has taken several different roles in Toastmaster International, such as Area I2 director from 2014 to 2015 and Division I director from 2015 to 2016. He holds a BA in Computer Science from the Yancheng institute of technology. He then attended the Shanghai Jiaotong University to continue his education with a MA in Software Engineering.
