International Winter University Programme 2019 at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences

What is it all about? The International Winter University Programme is a short-term program taught in English. Students can choose between two modules:
International Marketing and Sales: This module deals with the growing importance of Marketing Management for the success of a product and the company. Students will learn how to manage complex international marketing concepts. Different requirements of BtoB and BtoC customer segments, various industries as well as of selling services or products are considered in this module study.
Between Poverty and Conservation: Socio-Economics of Smallholder Farming in the Tropics: Based on real-world research data, students learn to integrate social science and micro-economics concepts and methodology. Specifically, livelihood choices of smallholder farmers living at the edge of national parks in countries such as Indonesia, Madagascar, or Chile are studied. Insights are applied to assess policy options. Participants: The program is aimed at advanced undergraduate & graduate students with an academic background in Business Administration, Management Studies, Marketing, Social Sciences, Geography, Political Sciences, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences and other related disciplines.

FUBiS is an intensive academic program through which students can earn credits that may be counted toward their degrees at their home institutions.
|FUBiS is an intensive academic program through which students can earn credits that may be counted toward their degrees at their home institutions.
FUBiS sessions run for 3 to 6 weeks and take place both in summer and winter. The FUBiS program 2018 takes place at the following dates:
• FUBiS Term II: June 2 – July 14, 2018 (6 weeks)
• FUBiS Term III: July 21 – August 18, 2018 (4 weeks)
Each term may be taken separately. Students can choose between subject courses (mostly taught in English) and German language courses. The subject courses are offered within the fields of Architecture, Art history, Politics, Law, History, Media Studies, Economics, Literature, Philosophy, Film, and Music.
In Term II and III, the subject courses may be combined with each other or with a semi-intensive German language course. The German language courses are offered on up to five different levels of proficiency and take place as semi-intensive (3 days per week) or intensive (5 days per week) classes.
Field trips are an integral part of all our courses. In addition, FUBiS offers excursions to the Berlin Reichstag and a River Boat Tour through Downtown Berlin as well as day and weekend trips to Potsdam, Dresden, and Leipzig.
New cooperation: For the first time FUBiS and the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen are offering a joint summer school in 2018 – the Tübingen-Berlin International Summer School. The integrated program gives you the opportunity to take in-depth courses on European politics and economics at two of Germany’s highest ranked universities in only four weeks (June 18 – July 14, 2018). Winter School: Global Governance of Human Germline Editing
|The Marsilius Winter School aims to investigate the scientific background of human germline editing and how its applications are regulated at the global level. A discussion on international governance frameworks of germline editing is necessary to address potential use cases, ethical and moral standards of its applications and how to prevent misuse. The Winter School will explore the potential scope of genome editing applications in medicine, the degree of bindingness of any possible international governance, as well as the consideration of different sociocultural insights and their influence on regulations. International experts from the fields of biomedicine, law, and ethics will contribute to a symposium held during the Winter School.
Participants are expected to take an active part in the interdisciplinary discussions and give a presentation at the Winter School. The aim of the Winter School is to develop and discuss a review or position paper. Applicants (graduate students and early postdoctoral fellows) should have research interests in areas relevant to the topic of the Marsilius Winter School (law, social sciences, philosophy, ethics, natural sciences and biomedicine).

Summer School “Latest Achievement in Transportation Engineering and Logistics” jointly held by the Technische Universität München (TUM) in Germany and Tsinghua University
The summer school is a short-term (2 weeks) training course on: Latest achievements in transportation engineering and logistics
The summer school will be held from 16 July 2018 to 27 July 2018 at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
The summer school is established for students from Peoples Republic of China and is organized by Technische Universität München (TUM) and Tsinghua University. The lectures are mainly set up by Technische Universität München and all school activities are conducted in English. Approximately 25-30 students will be accepted for the summer school this year.
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Federal Foreign Office of Germany (Auswärtiges Amt) are the supporters of this summer school.
The participation in the summer school is free of charge for all students. However, accepted students are supposed to cover their travel and accommodation expenses on their own.
Students, who are interested in transportation related subjects and Students who are interested in undertaking a M.Sc. degree in Germany with the major in transportation at TUM, are invited to apply for this summer school. You have the chance to meet lecturers from TUM and discuss study and research opportunities at TUM in Germany.
